Your Custom Song Consultation
We are about to embark on a beautiful journey. Thank you for trusting me with your story and your heart as we take this first step in crafting your song.

It will be helpful for you to take a couple of minutes to think about some specifics prior to our song consultation virtual meeting. I never use templates or reuse instrumental tracks or melodies. Each song I write is custom-crafted and inspired by what you will share with me on this call… from the melodies and the music to the lyrics and production. It’s all inspired by and infused with the story and the emotion you share during our meeting. So it’s definitely worth thinking about a few things ahead of time to make sure you end up with a song that really helps you express all the things you need.

Here are some things to consider:
Genre. My writing typically falls under the Singer-Songwriter & Folk umbrella. I sometimes incorporate writing and production elements that can push the genre closer to something like Folk/Pop or Americana. If you have any songs from my catalog or another artist that you really love the vibe of and would like me to start writing with a certain sound in mind, please share them with me! That step is not necessary, but I’m happy to draw a little bit of inspiration from other songs, with the understanding that the song I write for you will be a one-of-a-kind, unique piece of art.
Tempo. My writing is usually of slow or moderate tempo. Slow songs are great for things like a first dance or when expressing a really sentimental moment. Moderate tempo songs can also do that. If you have a preference for either, I will do my best to accommodate.
Mood. Heartfelt? Sentimental? Silly?
Mentions and Specifics. This one is important, so it gets some bullet points.
-
If you are going to gift this song to someone - do you want their actual name mentioned in the lyrics? Some people like that. Some people don’t. What do you like?
-
If the song is for a specific occasion (Mother’s Day, Wedding Day, Anniversary, Birthday, etc) - do you feel strongly about the occasion being named specifically in the lyrics?

During our consultation (which I will record to refer back to during the writing process), we will talk casually about the person or story you want to share, and I will be able to draw what I need from this meeting to write your song. Some of the things we talk about will be included in your song. Some may not, so please…
-
Think about any other must-have highlights to be included in the lyrics (the story about how you met… the name of your dog…. how on your first date, you hadn’t realized that you had two different shoes until she looked down and realized that she also had two different shoes on!… etc etc :) and share those with me during our consultation.
